Dusk is falling. It is late 1920’s, autumn, in the Suffolk countryside. Colonel Blunkett, his wife Celia and her aunt Maude are searching the woodlands for Maude’s little dog Dottie who has run away again. But why is the decrepit cottage, home of the Pentelow sisters, in darkness, no oil lamp flickering in the kitchen window ......?
